Daughter of Darkness

The most horrifying thing about Halloween this year turned out to be the journey back from Gatwick. We knew it was going to be a late one but we'd reckoned without an early landing meaning we had to navigate between terminals, the M25 being down to a single lane in two seperate places and the M1 being closed across three exits North, meaning we had to join a meandering convoy of lorries along some insufficient A-roads around Daventry. We finally got in around 3.30am, having spent 12 hours on the go from Athens, and grabbed a few hours sleep before getting up to fetch Hector back from 'Dog Camp.' Let's just say I was a little 'spacey' at work in the afternoon, though Katie, buoyed up by her irrepressible trick-or-treat excitement, was surprisingly wide awake and ready to go out scaring in the evening.
