Live it loud!

A slice of sunshine

It's been a lazy weekend compared to most recently.

Friday night started out with no Trick or Treaters which suits us and particularly suits the dog. Later Friday we spent a great few hours with the fantastic group neighbours in the hot tub, drinking wine and beer and having an uproarious evening - that's always the case when we have a 'session'.

A lie in of sorts on Saturday and then a quiet day, the highlight of which was drooling over a 4k tv over the road. Stunning picture quality - more pixels than my Mac. The prices of these tv's have come down enormously, but, until there are 4k transmissions, probably led by Sky, it seems little benefit in splashing out on one - yet….!

Much of the rest of the day was spent getting an old laptop back up to scratch with updates - it will be pressed into use shortly I expect - more of which soon no doubt. I do so hate Windows though. So much time just running updates and getting the internet security working properly and latest virus definitions installed. By the time I had finished it was dark again and time for Strictly and Dr. Who.

Today started well with a walk with the dog followed by a full english. Doesn't happen often but a great treat when it does. Out then for Jonathan's football match down in Stratford. He scored the first goal, then a second was scored for their team from a penalty. It was beginning to look good.

Then, the wheels came off….

Stratford came back to level and then got in front before our boys drew level themselves. Then behind again and level again. By this time, Jonathan was getting fed up for being flagged offside. He often drifts off-side and the comes back. Some were quite valid like most kids his age, he's still to watch where he is, but, he is incredibly quick - only in the last match has there been a defender who could keep up with him. Often he's past the last defender at speed and looks like he must have started from an off-side position. He was getting a little annoyed with himself and the linesman. He was blown up twice when most of us thought he was well on-side and he was clear on goal. He'll have to learn from today's game.

The game ended in great disappointment when Stratford scored a fifth with just a few minutes left. The lads were missing a few players including their strongest defender but they were well down after having led comfortably. A draw would have been a fair result.

It seems that the weekend is already drawing to a close, but its been refreshing doing little for a change. Next weekend I suspect normality will resume.
