'Summer' over?

It rained all night here so maybe the 'summer' is over at last.

We have had 3 stunning days out of the 5 we have been down here so no complaints. This is all I took today. Leaves and fruit from the Crabapple tree in my daughter's front garden. We didn't hang around too long as the 'young ones' were suffering a bit from the 'after show' party. They didn't get in till 7.00am!

Spent most of the daylight day travelling North. We did stop for coffee at the new Gloucester services which we have watched being built into the hill. It is the same people as the Tebay services in north Cumbria so is a farm shop as well as a food outlet. Very nice if rather pricey food, but certainly better than the average services on the motorway unless you are after 'fast' food.
