Thanks Victoria!

The kind hearted and helpful nature of a young lady named Victoria made this visit to the Catstane possible. The problem is you see, that this stone is located 'airside' at Edinburgh Airport and this meant that some lengthy email and phone correspondence was required to secure a visit. The lady concerned could not have been more helpful and I take my hat off to your willingness to assist Victoria - even though you did subject me to wearing a fluorescent vest and also undergo two body searches! So with camera in hand I was driven over two runways to stand beside a stone that with carbon dating is known to mark the burial site of a 5th or 6th century Christian grave which in the 1860's revealed nine burial cists that contained the remains of 51 individuals. Now that is something I find so amazing and all this located within one mile of my house!

The Pentland Hills looking magnificent in their winter coat just visible in the distance.

I hope you enjoy the photograph as much as I enjoyed my 45 minutes 'airside'
