The Big Beach Clean-Up
- This morning, teams of volunteers – families, community, business and sporting groups, worked to collect rubbish from around the region’s coastlines for the annual major clean-up.
- This event is run by DOC (Department of Conservation), Nelson City Council, Tasman District Council and Nelmac.
- Last year volunteers collected 3.5 tonnes of rubbish from 293 kilometres of beach and coastal areas.

** We spent this morning on a small island close to the mainland picking up rubbish from the beach.
The weather was perfect and the company of our fellow team mates very enjoyable.

*** These two gulls were near the boat ramp, quietly enjoying the sun and watching the world go by.

**** Take a look at the link for Riwaka7 as she was one of our team
