Gulls Skulls

On the left: Black-headed gull (Larus rididibus)
On the right: Herring gull (Larus argentatus)

My usual setup and background. I love the antique ivory colour of bones, their delicate architecture and the way that in each species, each bone is sculpted by history, utility and development into something both unique and familiar.

I could fill this journal-page with more osteological paeans, but I will restrain myself ;)

Waiting for M to return from Gateshead, and will cook the evening meal; chicken quarters roasted on a bed of spuds and artichokes with lemon and rosemary, methinks.
Then a DVD later, with a big bowl of fresh popcorn.
Sounds alright!
