Traffic in Ho Chi Minh

It's impossible to describe the sheer volume of mopeds and motor scooters in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. They are everywhere - and the noise of the hooting from vehicles is incredible. The scooters in particular have no regard for traffic regulations of any kind - they ignore traffic lights, stop signs, pedestrian crossings and were even often to be seen on the wrong side of the road. It's amazing there aren't more accidents. We learnt when crossing the road to take a deep breath and weave through the traffic. They don't actually stop for you but if you walk slowly and confidently they will drive around you.
