Everlasting
Now we have recovered from all the excitement of a certain small dog's haircut, we can get back to the native wild flowers of South Australia.
This one is very common, but I love it. It an everlasting, or straw flower. The species from Western Australia are the famous ones, but we get them too, and they are just as charming.
They were scientifically described very many years ago, and Josephine grew them in her garden at Malmaison, near Paris.
Very many cultivars have been produced, and they are commercially used in the cut flower industry.
Xerochrysum bracteatum if you are interested.
