Step back in time....
....which is the way we spent the most delightful afternoon, in the house where the Rower grew up many years ago.
We met the current owner at an Open Garden a couple of weeks back and she very charmingly invited us up for lunch and a tour today.
We had the best time.
And seeing that we were in Mt. Barker, of course we all went for a walk in the Laratinga Wetlands. Mt. Barker is quite a small town, and it's inevitable that you'll get talking to people - as you do in small country towns. And we met this bloke on a bike who had an app. And this app is the bestest bird app EVER. Put out by Michael Morcambe - it features all the bird song, and wonderful images, and the distribution. There's a lite version which is free - but when you start to look through it you are instantly hooked, and OF COURSE, we've just bought the full version.
It may well be that everyone already knows about it, but we didn't and we are very happy indeed to have discovered it.
This is the best image I got - a Musk Lorikeet. I've generally found these birds to be a real challenge, but this one was relatively friendly and stayed around and posed quite nicely.
