Shopping for A Shed

In a roundabout way we ended up in Cockenzie so walked round the power station to observe the current demolition activity.

Close by we came upon this unassuming little cove which, besides being the biggest ever source of sea glass, has a surprising history.

Known as the Boat Shore, it is a perfect natural harbour around which grew the fishing village of Cockenzie. In 1834 a new harbour was built further West to facilitate the export of coal and this also benefitted the fishing fleet. By 1877 even this was deemed too small and the harbour at Port Seton constructed.

I know I am way behind with commenting but have so much back-blipping to do that I should get on with that meantime. Who knows, I might get round to putting up the USA trip from last year...
