The Birthday

My friend had a rather special birthday on Monday. She has had so many wonderful celebrations in the past few weeks.

Today her girlfriends, of which I am the luckiest and the oldest, in years of friendship, not age, although probably that too, got together to celebrate with all the C's; chat, coffee, champagne, cake, Carol.

I remember when we shared a flat together how she made me laugh each time she watched something on the television which was romantic, or sad and it always made her cry.

Today, I made a speech and it made me cry! She is very special to me and I think I just realised how much I appreciate having her in my life in that moment.

Luckily at this point she had no idea that we had burnt the carpet in the dining room with the sparklers we used on the cakes. Eeeeeek!!!!

That's me unfriended then.
