I could have posted the image of the divine chocolate cake with vanilla custard and fresh allotment raspberries that Diane brought today, but after the scone on Monday there may have been complaints - too much sugar is bad for you.
My boy felt well enough to go to school today - he said. I know it was driven by the need to sit his first NAB and a desire to watch and maybe partake in a little football in the afternoon. He knew not to push it as he has an important Scottish Cup Tie on Sunday and the coach is nervous.
Like a good Mum I helped by alleviating some of his symptoms and putting them on my shoulders and head. I have tried a number to things today to get rid of the dull ache but it's not shifting. Loads of vit C, Echinacea and zinc should help though. One of my distractions was to go in search of pylons. I love the things but they are never anywhere that you can stop, get out and take shots. This one is near a golf course so I risked being hit by golf balls as a result. Such incredible feats of engineering and I do love the look of them, they are another thing I would love to get up close to. Thankfully I know not to, but in my youth ...
We are all delighted with the news that Grangemouth Petrochemicals will stay open. My man worked there for about 22 years and only left 15 months ago, so we still know so many of the families that would have been affected. I can't imagine their distress over the last week.
