Hornet's feast

It's been like a summer day in the Chilterns. I was walking round the nature reserve in shirt-sleeves and watching Commas and Hornets flying. The slowly rotting apples, pears and plums in our small orchard area are proving irresistible to a number of bees and wasps, including this lovely Hornet.
