Puffballs everywhere
I was down on the south coast yesterday, helping my daughter and her boyfriend to start decorating their new house. No time for natural history walks, but on the way down (at an unearthly hour - helped by the clocks going back) I stopped in the New Forest to stretch my legs. Immediately, right by the road, I was overwhelmed by the quantity of fungi, including sheets of these lovely fresh puffballs. Next time I'm down there I must book some time off to go on a foray.
