Slippery When Wet
Hmmm it was terribly slippery out on the the railway early this morning especially between my stops at Berwick and Alnmouth with my 06:06 departure from Edinburgh to Plymouth albeit I only drove to Leeds and back but I did get stopped in the Little Mill area to be cautioned approaching Alnmouth as an East Coast train was struggling to stop and pull away I must admit it was the slippyist I have seen it for a number of years down the east coast for sure as I could only throttle between half and 3/4 power with my HST between Berwick and Alnmouth as when I tried taking full power my amps shot right up along with my speedo thankfully I never typed speedos there lol what a thought and sight that might be at this time of the morning urgghhh sorry I digress yip I was doing around 85 mph at one point and the speedo shot right up to 130mph just with the wheels spinning on such a slippery rail so you have to shut off power again and then my (ETS) Electric Train Supply cut out on the rear power car so had to switch to the front power car which in itself isn't much of a problem apart from when your stopped as any one who knows much about HST's will know that the one supplying ETS revs it's head off which makes it rather noisy when your stopped at stations where as the power car without the ETS supply on is far quieter and our ones are also fitted so that only 8 of the 16 cylenders on either "A" bank or "B" bank run at any one time when idling so the next time you stand next to the quiet power car after a wee while you will hear the power car go even quieter for a few seconds then it will rev up again to what it was a minute or so earlier as they switch from A bank to B bank and vice versa basically to help stop too much wear and tear so now you know anyway me heids burstin with all that technical stuff now so I will leave you with my blip for the day of me taking a shot whilst I was killing time for my departure from Craigentiiny at half five this morning after starting at 04:15 and out my bed at 3am with an empty class 350 Transpennine set sitting next to mine in 10 road whilst mine sits in number 11 siding and I'm home now at last with a trip to Aberdeen tomorrow so will see what that brings now then movie for the day is "All Bookies Wear Speedos 2005 " But Train Drivers dinny lol, looks nice BIG as well See Ya
