The End Of British Summertime :(

It was a beautiful afternoon in Essex but I wasted it sat in traffic in town. :(

I called in on Fisher's Green nature reserve on the way to M&S this evening. I got a lovely little grebe and a great spotted woodpecker from the Bittern hide and some nice backlit in-flight gull shots from the viewing point.

I stood there bathed in sunlight, it was so calm and so mild. I didn't want to leave to do my shopping but needs must. It was about 5:30 pm.

The bridge over a tributary of the River Lee is one of those that soldiers would have to break their stride to cross. It's got a weird wobble. After a few steps on the wobbly bridge I turned and looked back. This time tomorrow it will be dark. :(
