NZ Native
Corokia cotoneaster is another hardy NZ native but with a bit more colour. It grows about 4 metres high and bushes out. Can make a good hedge and needs a good prune every now and again. This one stands in a corner at the back of the section and is a mass of flower at the moment. I discovered that the round black compost bin underneath it is hosting a hive of bumble bees at the moment so as I took this there was a lot of humming going on. I lifted the lid and poked around and the odd one flew out but they aren't a problem and have plenty of work to do. I must read up on them though.
