Tui-up close and personal

After spending a lot of yesterday and last evening trying to get better tui photos from a distance I decided today I would just set up much closer, walk in quietly when one arrived and see what happened. Well it worked, not once but twice.
They come into the top of the tree. Step their way down very warily then hop onto the jar of sugar and water. They must have got used to some movement or else they could see me coming slowly but just kept dipping and drinking. They are rarely still - dipping, lifting their head to let it slide down, look left, right, behind, dip again.Several good photos but this one he is looking behind him and so in a slightly different position.
