Hello Saskia

Rembrandt's 'Man in Armour is on loan to The National Gallery for an exhibition of his late works. In it's place Kelvingrove is playing host to an early portrait, painted shortly after his marriage to Saskia van Uylenburgh, daughter of a wealthy art collector. Rembrandt has painted his new wife in elaborate costume, laden with flowers and with long, rich flowing tresses.
