Those Were The Days
by Mary Hopkin
Seeing the moss-covered roof of the outhouse of the fisherman's family on our neighbouring island made me a bit sad. We bought our island from them, and there were four members in the family. Mother, father and two daughters. Now only one daughter is alive, aged about 80 and visiting the island only during summers. In the old days, the family lived in the island throughout the year, had cows and other animals, two small fields, but lived mainly off fishing. They all live in our momories, though.
