Evening Light in the Khumbu
Thamserku 6723m
No idea how many photos I have taken of this mountain which dominates the valley of Khumjung, from dawn this morning. This was the very last one before she disappeared into the clouds this evening.
We had a "rest day" today, climbing above the village to 4,200m to Khunde Peak. There are fabulous views across to Everest Along the ridge. A poignant memorial to Sir Edmund Hillary, and also to his wife and daughter who were killed flying into Lukla, sits astride the ridge. From it you can see down into the valley where they created the first Sherpa school and hospital.
No internet and too much food, goodnight from Nepal!
