Maps!

It seemed appropriate today to photograph a few of these. Ever since I was 13 I have been interested in and have collected maps - I use them for study and when I'm out and about. I have little or no time for Sat Navs (although they have a use in densely populated places where it's difficult to navigate while driving) and much prefer to use a map!

After an extremely busy day at work and each and every one of us really worked extra hard today, I was able to see my contact in Languages - one of the teachers of German - in connection with my story. This was, as always with her, extremely helpful and useful and I am in a good position to get going again. Both my character and the lady I see have a great liking for Austria and Germany and I thought I'd photograph a few maps of parts of these countries that I have in my collection to mark the end of a successful day. These are all walking scale maps. The two green ones on the left are from Bavaria, while the other green ones cover parts of Nordrhein - Westfalen and Rheinland - Pfalz also in Germany. The bigger ones are from Austria, covering parts of the NE - Niederosterreich and the extreme south - Carinthia to be exact. I have visited both countries several times and in particular took a train ride from Remagen to Altenahr, visiting the medieval town of Altenahr and the wine cellars of Mayschoss when I stayed in the area.
