The first snow of the season on the Jura Mountains!

The air smells of snow and today the cold and blue skies have really brought thoughts of waxing those skis (you were correct JS!). The view of the Alps and Mont Blanc was stunning from the house today and beautiful views are something I find difficult without Philip. There is a little known Irish Band called 'The Men They Couldn't Hang' who have a phrase in their lyrics 'And mountains and rivers and beautiful views mean nothing to me, parted from you' and these lyrics have been ever-present in my mind this year.

However, nothing can stop the seasons and one thing I am trying to adopt at times like these is to cherish each moment as if it were the last time - to make each moment count.

White was a theme today with more white vans, more white van men and white paint appearing on the plaster board!

Also, today I had a visit, and a pleasant lunch, catching up with some Cheltenham friends and sharing memories. :-)
