A Golden Nation
Today is a fantastic day
WHY?
My Canadians beat the Americans in the Gold medal hockey game at the olympics.
Being in NZ it was tough to find a place to watch the game as it started at 9am over here.
So
Instead of watching it on TV, I watched it over skype as you can see in the picture...
There is always a party thrown at my house when Canada plays hockey. Since I couldn't be there in person I had to be there through skype. It was really cool to be able to watch the game with family and friends via the internet. They just pointed the laptop at the screen and I could watch as we showed the Americans whose game it REALLY is!
I think I can speak for most (if not most, then a good chunk...dont ask me to define the size of a "chunk") Canadians when I say that Gold in Hockey is, to us, the most imortant part of any international competition. We could win no other medals throughout the games, but as long as we win Gold in hockey, it would be success in our books.
But. Here's the kicker...
We didn't just win Gold in hockey... This olympic games we set the record for the most Gold medals ever won by a country at the winter olympics.
Sing with me now...
O CANADA, OUR HOME AND NATIVE LAND!.....
Props to the American hockey team, they did good for coming into the Olympics ranked 6th overall. Hopefuly in 4 years we can see the showdown take place one more time.
Till then the Maple Leaf will be glimmering with the glow of GOLD!
