A stormy day....
I was glad I was in the house again working. Today is Bin Day here and I'd put everything out before 6:30am. Sure enough the bin men came two minutes after I'd got back in the house. I kept watch in the gloom and as soon as they'd gone I ran out in my slippers to chase a wheelie bin up the road! It didn't get far thank goodness and hopefully no one saw me. I do not want to appear on Blipfoto any time soon!
I was soaked even though I hadn't been gone long. The wind was fierce and the rain had lashed down. After it got lighter, the day continued on with brilliant sunshine one minute and heavy rain the next. It was all accompanied by the wild wind. I think I need to move the one dratted wheelie bin over a bit. When it rains, the water splashes down from the guttering outside my bedroom window and then drums heavily on the bin lid right outside my front room window where I am working. It's like a weird form of torture - someone doing the Riverdance but without any music!
It will send me even more insane! At least I had my flowers to gaze at next to my laptop to take my mind off things. I sniffed at the lovely aroma several times and wondered. It made me sneeze but I'm not complaining. I read somewhere when I was still at school that it's impossible to sneeze with your eyes open. I wonder if that's true? I did think about taping my eyes open with strips of tape keeping my lids open but what if my eyeballs flew out?
Can you tell I've had a tedious day?
I had a user that couldn't spell her own name right today. It took half an hour to get her logged in and it was only when I was thinking seriously about going into work with a loaded ...ummm... peashooter to sort her out, she collapsed in a wave of giggles explaining she was having finger trouble and kept spelling 'Laura' 'Luara' today. Hmmmmmm...
Oh well. Today's starling shot is one of the only pictures I took and it's not great. The birds aren't fond of this weather either. If it was egg laying season, they would be laying the same egg several times in today's gales.
Go large...
