A little memory
This lovely fern, Cyrtomium caryotideum NP020, grows in the garden at Arduaine and was one of several given to me by my late friend Nigel Price, who grew them from spores he collected in Yunnan, SW China some years ago. The attached number is his collector's number which identifies the origin of the spores. He will have recorded that somewhere.
Nigel was until recently Head Gardener at Crarae Garden - and before that at Brodick Castle Gardens, but sadly he died from cancer just a few weeks ago at the youthful age of 60. His wife Yu Ying was from Beijing.
