Also known as onion grass it is an introduced pesky agricultural weed that doesn't even taste like an onion! (apparently more like a water chestnut.)
Kangaroos consider it a tasty little treat and scratch and dig for the tiny crunchy corm leaving a trace of their claw marks in the sand.

Yes, the scratchy hollows discovered on this morning walk were made by a foraging roo..how cool is that.
I had no idea what might have made the marks but being so lucky to have the daily walking company of nature guru J, all was revealed.

The size of a small green pea it would take a lot to make a snack!..considering the size of some of the roos in the park.
