Autumn bounty
What a beautiful day today - the weather was ridiculously good (about 20 degrees!) for the time of year. We got up early and set off in the car to go and see our friends Richard and Cris at their beautiful new home in Kent. They gave us a tour of their 17th century house first - it's beautiful, with so many intriguing nooks and crannies - then a tour of their 'garden' - in actual fact, a garden, rose garden, allotment area and paddock. Amazing!
We walked a short way down the road to their local pub for a delicious lunch, then walked a 5 mile loop through beautiful Romney Marsh, and back to theirs for a cup of tea. They even gave us a go on their ride-on mower. Fun! They have been harvesting such a bounty of fruit and veg from their allotment/greenhouse, and packed us off back home with a bag full of apples and another absolutely full of basil.
Got home around 6pm and I was feeling quite unwell - fighting a bug, I think. I made a really quick and easy tea, then we settled in to watch a movie off the digital recorder - Zombieland. Silly, but fun - and nice to have a relaxed evening.
