Hearing from the Locals

Day 2 of Arctic Futures 2014, and the locals in this context aren't the good folks of Brussels but representatives of a number of indigenous Arctic groups ranging from the Yukon and Nunavut in Canada through to Saami from Scandinavia.

One of the aims of the Arctic Futures meetings is to bring representatives from the communities to talk to and with the relevant policy makers in the EU.

This panel sent a very strong message to the EU about how they see sustainable development in the Arctic.
