The World's Largest Cruise Ship

Looming out of the mist early this morning on a one day visit to Southampton the Oasis of the Seas dwarfed the Isle of Wight fast passenger ferry.

The ship is 40% bigger than any ship which has docked in the UK. This will be it's only visit to Southampton.

The 1,187ft Royal Caribbean vessel is longer than the Shard and wider than a Boeing 747. The ship which can carry 5000 passengers and 2000 crew has an outdoor park with 12,000 plants, 82-ft zip wire, and high-diving performance venue. It takes a whole day to visit all the areas of the ship.

A friend of mine will be on board when she leaves at midnight for Florida. Wild horses wouldn't get me on board one of these things.
