Vienna Woods

Today we enjoyed quick getaway from Vienna to explore the countryside and villages. We had a tour of the fascinating Abbey of Heiligenkreuz, the oldest continuously occupied Cistercian monastery in the world, and where I took the above photograph. Afterwards we got to take a beautiful boat ride on the Seegrotte, the largest subterranean lake in Europe. On the way back to the city we glimpsed the storybook Liechtenstein Castle, and were dropped off in time for lunch. Mum and I sat in a lovely cafe opposite The Opera House, dining and wining, while keeping our eye out for Tom Cruise who was in the vicinity filming Mission Impossible 5. No luck spotting him, but it was fun all the same!
