Budapest

Today was extremely long but amazing all the same. We went on a day trip to Budapest, which is a stunning city and one I would love to make it back to one day. Unfortunately we had a tour guide who felt the need to repeat everything she said in a monotone voice about 40 times, and that drove us a little nuts, but other than that, it was a great day. After a long drive through some beautiful countryside we arrived in the city just before lunch time. We had a small bus tour before heading to the restaurant where we enjoyed an incredible three course meal. The sun was shining, we ate in a lovely courtyard and we both had a sneaky beverage to accompany our meal.

After lunch we went on a walking to tour of the castle precinct with a local guide. Once that tour was over we had a couple of hours free time so Mum and I decided to go on a river cruise and enjoy the sights of the city from the water. We made a good choice! Relaxing on the deck, sipping on beer, and seeing buildings, bridges and monuments just as gorgeous as the one you see above, was a memory I'll cherish for a long time to come.
