Crested China 13 - Chepstow

A pretty horrible day overall. I had to visit the dentist after work who was running late and the miserable weather which has gone on for three days wasn't any good for outdoor shots, so this will have to do!

This is another piece in the collection. Hopefully there are others out there in the world of blip that collect things as I have always done, whatever it may be. I often find an awful lot of negativity about collecting things in general - even on the media that demands you live in a minimalist environment, although there is a very strong interest in antiques and collectables which is all rather odd.

Chepstow lies just inside Wales in Monmouthshire. It's one of the very few places I have ever been to in Wales. It lies at the mouth of the River Wye just before it enters the Severn. The castle is one of the finest in Wales and is well worth a visit. It's position high up on a sheer crag above the river is very impressive. Sadly this cannot be said of the church which is always locked! Chepstow has medieval town walls with a gate that survives in the main street. Chepstow is also famous for it's racecourse that lies to the NW of the town. On the other side of the River Wye is England and the county of Gloucestershire. Almost immediately the Forest Of Dean begins and covers a very large area between the Rivers Severn and Wye - another very interesting area in itself.
