I find lunchtime swimming good for afternoon energy and an encouragement to have a decent breakfast (of Coco Pops this morning) instead of flailing to the office and ordering a take out.

After work there was a very interesting talk on Ukraine and general Russian politics by an American journalist, with some fiery debate with a Kazakh woman in the audience who was very defensive over Putin and the fact he is a 'good man'. Definitely useful to be reminded that among expats here there can be wildly differing views. In Western Europe the general consensus would be that Putin is an oppressive tool. But if any other evidence can be presented otherwise, I would stand corrected...
