A Mirror of Five Continents

Brasilia was conceived in 1956 from scotch. In 1960, it was ready for business. It took three men to fulfill this dream. The inspiration came from President Juscelino Kubitchek. The architect was Oscar Niemeyer and Lucio Costa was the landscaper.
Brasilia later became the only first modern construction honored as a UNESCO World Heritage. This is a view of one of Niemeyer's iconic buildings. It is Palacio do Itamaraty , the nation's Foreign Ministry that seems floating above water.
The white sculpture on today's blip is the work of Bruno Giorgi. It is made of five marble blocks each representing a continent. This work of art is called Meteor.
