Dubrovnik Day 2: The Rain

Croatia has apparently had its worst summer for 50 years. The forecast for the rest of week was good, but today it was due to rain. And it did.

An odd and difficult day today - my brain finds it impossible to switch off and when I'm travelling on my own, it's very hard to distract it from conjuring up all manner of doom-laden scenarios to worry about. Not helped today by the rain...

However, before it rained, I got most of the way round my walk. Which ended up being 12km rather than about 8km as I got lost. Twice. I had to ask a local ("hello lady! you here tomorrow? I have boat trips") at one point and then do some back-tracking.

Then the rain started. Took refuge in a very nice restaurant near the hotel that did amazing pizzas and nice wine.

Thankfully it dried up enough by nightfall to pop out and take at least 1 or 2 photos. It's not great, but there was little choice today.
