Thoughts of a Mummy

Disco Diva's

Another non-stop day of running errands for my little ladies.

A quick visit to Macro to get the Tuck Shop sweets for the school disco, ended up turning into a shopping trips for dresses, shoes and accessories for the school disco tonight. Which of course couldn't possibly be from the same shop, because that would be far too easy. The dresses were the easy part; all from Next and all in the exact sizes required. It was the shoes and accessories that we struggled with. So after visiting Accessorize, BHS and River Island (which I would like to point out, had children's shoes that even an adult would struggle to walk in), we found a compromise on George at Asda.

Then back to Stanton for a tea break at Mumstop with Aj and her best friend, followed by lunch with Nana T, Jiggy and Sam.

Unfortunately one of the dresses was dirty and needed to be returned. So off back to Next for a quick and easy exchange and then home again to collect the girls from school.

Jiggy left just before the girls finished school, making sure that she made a note to put on each dress for the girls (her treat).

Their Auntie Sarah came with me to collect them from school and when we got home, she stayed to help me get the girlies nails painted.

The girls got home from school and the first thing DM spied where the new dresses, she squealed with excitement and they all desperately wanted their dresses on now.

After a light tea, Peach and I got the girls, washed, dressed in their new outfits and hair all made up. Of course, we had to include Aj in it all; although she wasn't actually going to the disco, we felt she should be included in the preparations.

R&P had their disco session first and had a wonderful time. As a PTA member, I stayed and helped out, which was great for me to watch them enjoy themselves. Rubels spent most of the time on the dance floor, playing games and showing her moves; whilst Penny was either sitting on the bench eating her sweets, in amongst a group of boys or just sat next Austin. They both thoroughly enjoyed themselves and loved telling everyone about their new dresses.

DM went to the second disco session, I stayed again. Like Rubels, DM opted to keep herself to herself and only occasionally going back to be with her friends. Saturday night by Whigfield came on and DM shrugged her shoulders to say "I don't know this dance". I used to love that dance and when it was first released I was always the first to get up and dance to it. So naturally, when it came on and DM didn't know the moves, with Sam's help, I happily showed her the moves. After a few minutes, we noticed that we'd got quite a following that were looking to us to lead the routine. It ended up that we did the whole routine and had about 15-20 kiddies copying us!

A good and constant day, but absolutely shattered now!!
