Newcastle

What a lovely weekend we've had. A trip down to Newcastle on the train to see a super spesh and super dear pal.

Well... The itinerary had the little one bewildered at first. Explaining that we were visiting Newcastle and not a new castle was a bit challenging, especially when compounded by the fact our 'train' turned into a bus till Berwick upon Tweed... Confusion abounded.

Anyway, we arrived... Eventually... Quickly checked into our hotel and then headed over, via bridges and general city scenicness, to the Baltic to meet the aforementioned super pal.

Loved the Baltic. In this picture, the girls were having a blast with the Daniel Buren installation.

Later on that evening we went to an ace pizza restaurant ... We were lured in by the life size model of a horse wearing legwarmers and roller skates that said restaurant has outside. It is, apparently, the mark of excellent pizza ...
