Cheat!

When I moved into the old cottage, just over two years ago, I didn't bother getting a television (I still don't have one). In the evenings when I had Dan and Abi, we'd sometimes play games. Traditional board games like Cluedo or Monopoly but also card games. I bought a book called 'Family Card Games' but they games were mostly variations on a theme and didn't particularly appeal to the kids. Or to me, actually.

Recently, in an effort to get them to spend less time on their laptops, I've introduced a curfew, during which they're supposed to read and this has resulted in us playing more games, including cards.

But what a difference two years makes! Now we've started playing cheat and both of them absolutely love it. This evening Milly was with us, too, and that was even better. All my children have better poker faces than me!*

*Note to self: don't play poker with the children.
