At Ibrox for the crucial clash between Scotland and Georgia. Pre-match palaver is quite a spectacle. What was wrong with a simple pipe-band and maybe a wee demonstration at half time from some local urchin who can do hundreds of keepie uppies?

No, as well as the sponsor logo taking up the whole centre circle and the airship with the badge handing from it - we now have a red carpet and a gateway for players and officials to use to come onto the pitch. Oh, and 14 staff to make this all happen - 3 for the carpet alone!

Pre-match entertainment for us was at the Louden Tavern, the "quintessential Rangers pub". Would not want to be there on a Rangers match day, pretty horrible stuff for a couple of Binos fans down for the day. Part of the boy's education into what Scottish football's tribalism is really all about. As a good friend put it - this is the heart of the beast.
