Fruit of temptation
Last year we had such a heavy quince crop that we didn't know what to do with it all. I made dulce de membrillo, quince jelly, quince brandy, quince vodka and quincemeat. Eventually I gave up looking for new recipes, and simply put the remains of the crop in a basket on the garden wall with a sign saying "Please help yourself".
This year the tree has decided to take a well-earned rest, and has made exactly three fruit - two of which were on the ground when I walked round the garden just now. I'm not absolutely sure what I will do with this little fruit, but I need to decide quickly and get on with doing it, or the kitchen will be full of fruit flies...
