Banana slug
This is a banana slug and some of them are yellow - hence the name. But around our way they mostly adopt camouflage colouring.
It has been a misty morning and rain is forecast for this afternoon. Ideal weather for slugs. We saw this one on our hike with No 1 son and the borderline collie. Jasper enjoyed chasing sticks and blithely walks over the slugs on his path.
I also took some photos of mushrooms as they too seem to be in season. I still don't know enough about fungi to trust harvesting any.
If you've been following my projects you will notice that I have not got around to setting up the rain barrels. That can wait! Our barrels aren't that big and I suspect that our usual winter rainfall will fill them several times over.
For those in Canada - enjoy the Thanksgiving weekend. (Those of you in the States have a while to wait for your celebrations - couldn't the two countries agree on a date for this?)
