Curiosity
A number of Blippers, particularly those in the Christchurch area, will know Scott F who is a wonderful photographer and a great teacher. He judged our last Camera Club competition and attended our meeting last night to give us valuable feedback. He also did an inspiring presentation on photography.
Scott’s specialty is Nik Filters and I was keen to learn from him. He stayed with us over night and this morning he and I and the dogs went walking together up the Taylor River. Alas, we had a cloudy morning so the light was no good for landscape photography. At the end of our walk we detoured to the Taylor Dam and photographed swans on the lake.
Here a mother swan has been teaching her babies how to hunt for food. She has just finished a “bottoms up” search for nice edible weed and is standing by supervising the cygnets as they curiously investigate the results of her foraging. The babies are growing like little mushrooms and are fast getting to the teenage stage of swan-hood.
