The Terrible Two
Reunited at a dance practice for the Macae ceilidh. Jimmy wasn't dancing because of an injured leg, and Iain was enjoying a night off, while HH tried to teach a few dances to a small group before the big ceilidh tomorrow. There was a lot of laughter and they even learned a few dances. Undoubtedly the most welcome presence was the widow of one of the driving forces behind the Macae ceilidh, who was brutally and senselessly murdered earlier this year in what appears to have been an attempted carjacking. It was so brave of her to come and she put such a good face on it.
I'm saving my knees and my energy for tomorrow - and resting after driving up from Rio. What a ghastly road and what a tedious journey! Still, worth it for the lovely welcome we got from our friends, their cat and their dog, and to meet up again with the Macae crowd. Hard to believe that this is the 8th or 9th time we've been up here for this event - haven't missed one since the first. Unfortunately, our usual teacher, Audrey, wasn't able to make it this year - we'll all miss her.
