Adopted big sister
Rowan came round to play after school today, which is a totally perfect system because it's a dead bit in Rowan's schedule before gymnastics and the bit of the afternoon when Ivy is at her most grumpy and hardest to distract. Ivy's love and adoration for Rowan is the most precious thing. She occasionally just pops out a hand to touch her (captured in this picture) and she mimics her movements, like when Rowan sat to pack her schoolbag up, Ivy sat beside her in the same pose.
Ivy got herself super over excited and rocketed back and forth through her tunnel, so we gave her somehome made orangescented playdough to play with to relax her slightly. Rowan showed her how to use cutters to make shapes.
Ivy took her morning nap in bed beside me, with her foot in my face this morning, which was nice as I didn't have to get out of the warm bed to put her back next door.
She insisted on wearing a hat in the house- and kept handing it to me to put back on if I took it off her. Rebuilt her teepee in the afternoon, she helped by handing me the bits, with the addition of her crash mat so she has a bench for sitting on.
We had dimsum for dinner, as I predicted Ivy loved them and made an attempt at using chopsticks. Ours weren't as good as the ones Pop's makes though- so we're hopeful he'll make her some sometime we're down.
When it came time for her bath, Ivy made sure she carried the new bath toy Rowan had brough her round for her birthday upstairs with her.
