Mesmerised

When I went upstairs to check on Orla, she was still awake and told me she felt scared. So I let her come downstairs with me and we cuddled up on the couch to watch Brian Cox's Human Universe. She was totally into it from the get-go, asking lots of questions and making some very intelligent observations, like the fact that "Africa is the best place to find skulls because people have been dying longer there than anywhere else". I was building to the reveal of Petra, but it turned out she had seen it before, she said "oh, that's the city in the canyon, we drew it in school".

Sound asleep now. Wish me luck carrying her up to bed!
