'The Murder Hole'

You have to say 'The Murder Hole' in a Scottish accent like Taggart!

I thought this was a well in Jabreen Fort, south of Nizwah, but it was explained that it was the 'Murder' hole where people were killed. Mostly it was enemies who had been attacking the region but I expect it was also the execution hole as there was the court room just by it.

Wonderful day full of interest in Nizwah Fort and the Suq and then on to Jabreen fort. Really love the Arabic people I'm meeting and it's amazing how the Arabic comes back after 20 odd years.
One shopkeeper was so impressed with my Arabic that he called me back as I was leaving and gave me a lapel badge of the UK and Omani flags. :-)
