evening stroll

The day started slower than it should have.
Dexter has reached an all time low on the sleep stakes. Not only is he only sleeping for (at most) 2 hours at a time, but he was also a real challenge to get to sleep in the first place. He seems to have suddenly decided that his cot is a horrible place to be. It's just a phase. It's just a phase. It's just a phase. It's just a phase. It's just a phase. It's just a phase. It's just a phase. It's just a phase. It's just a phase. It's just a phase.

Anyway, we took him to the drop in clinic to get him weighed again. His weight gain is still a lot shallower on the graph than the centile lines but the staff nurse that was standing in for the usual woman was really reassuring. Our usual woman always has an element of panic about her. Anyway, just as well because we'd decided he's fine anyway.
Got a few things knocked off nice and early - arranged transport with a friend for a trip next Saturday, bought Sam some waterproof shoes for the winter in the first shop we went to, arranged plumber for tomorrow. And on top of all that, Dexter had a nice long nap. Brilliant.

It was my job to get Dex off for a nap in the early evening (having decided that his meltdown last night was partly down to being overtired), so I took him off for a walk to Saughton park. Happily the weather turned lovely and we sat in the evening sun enjoying the long shadows and the still.
