October Evening

Trying to stick to my new promise to myself, to finish work bang on time, rather than work on to finish stuff. Tonight I was strong, and forced myself out of the office at 7pm, and headed to visit my mum for a bit, as she has not been very well this last week.

This is a view from her garden, where the moon was just reappearing from behind a cloud, and her Tulip tree was lit up by, and silhouetted against, the street lights.

My daughter said in her blip today that she likes Autumn, it feels like getting ready for bed. I'm afraid I don't feel anything like that; to me it is the end of a long day spent in the sunshine, and being forced to go inside and go to bed. In the coal-shed.

I'd happily have midsummer all year round, being able to go for a walk with the dog at 11 o'clock at night is high on my list of lovely things to do.

Mum seemed a bit brighter tonight, so I'm hoping she's on the mend now.
