A Garden Visitor

I can't believe the change in the weather today. I wen off to boot this morning and it wasn't too bad....I was even exercising in my vest top....but right now I could do with a fur coat as I'm freezing. My own fault really as I'm too mean to put the heating on until the evening. Good job I have this aga for a bit of warmth.

Needless to say I have not been in the garden today and the dogs haven't been outside that much either. Maybe that's why this beautiful Woodpecker came for a visit. I've seen them in the paddock quite a bit but as soon as they know your there they zoom off. We have two adults and two young which nest around the paddock in the trees or bushes somewhere. I know this because the painter tells me so. This one was in the back today. I had to take this from inside the house so it's not too bad. It added a bit of colour to the garden on a damp, cold grey day.

It's strange just me and dad here at the moment. The boys will be back on Wednesday and I'll be cursing their mess again. It's about time they moved out....I quite like my peaceful, tidy house ;)
